The description of Minecraft
Minecraft is the sandbox survival game developed and published by the Mojang Company. The game is available to play on the Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms. The initial release was launched eight years ago — in November 2011. For now, it is the best-selling game of all time. By late 2019, the total amount of sold copies was more than 176 million. The number of monthly active users reaches 122 million. Besides this, Minecraft is used not only for entertainment purposes but also as an educational environment for imitating the building of virtual computers and hardware devices.
Minecraft’s gameplay focuses on building different constructions from blocks in a 3D procedurally generated world. Depending on the selected mode, you can play in a completely free environment or be required to gather the resources to survive. By default, Minecraft consists of five modes: adventure, survival, creative, hardcore, and spectator. In a creative mode, you can build whatever you want and do not worry about the enemies, health indicators, and limited resources. The spectator mode allows you to watch how other gamers are playing without direct interaction. The next three modes are for those who want to add complexity to the game. Here, the materials are limited, so you need to create a strategy to own them. The second factor is the dangerous enemies that always want to destroy your constructions. And the third factor is your health indicators which you need to remember too.
Minecraft is played from the first-person perspective, but you can always change it to the third-person in the settings. You can play alone or with friends due to multiplayer mode. Users created a lot of additional downloadable content that can extend the opportunities in the game or add more customization options. If you want, you can also build a new gameplay mechanics, textures, or other assets.
Minecraft is made in the cartoon-like pixel styles. As all objects are made from the blocks of different sizes, the whole game visuals do not look like in real life. But there are attempts to bring the game closer to a more realistic look. For example, not so long ago, Microsoft announced the development of a new update package that will improve the way light bounces around game scenes. The corporation did not mention the exact release date but said that it will be in the 2020 year.
Depending on which platform you are playing on, different control mechanisms are applied. For example, on PC you can play with a mouse and a keyboard. If you play on the mobile device, use a touchscreen. There is a full list of available commands on the Internet. Overall, due to simple controls, large community, and several modes, Minecraft is a long-played game.
